1964, I disagree, some fans been going right over the top about Bilic and the team.
Proper knicker wetting that given we're now 7th on 6 points with two amazing wins.

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
Knee jerk and knicker wetters are crass terms.

You win, everybody is happy. You lose, everybody is dissapponted. You lose by a fucking disgraceful performance like last weeks defensive debacle and people are going to moan.

That's football. People are going to give their opinions, thats what a forum is basically for. If you don't like it I sugest you don't come on here!

'knee jerk' is such a crass term, especially when used as a insult at a time when its true meaning doesn't apply.

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
As usual with these threads it has become rather black and white. It is part of football to have opinions (both good and bad) about players and the team as each match passes. On the other hand the type of hysteria on the 'joke club' thread is both ridiculous and pointless. I'm sure no-one believes that there is no room for improvement but it is a steady start the season with a new manager, players and style - even if we have not picked up the points from where we expected.

Those who go out of their way to criticise everything the owners do and had written off the manager after three games should seriously consider finding a new hobby.

Kidders

And scoring nine goals in the first four games, including two traditionally difficult away games.

Shipping 4 goals at home to Bournemouth, how dare I be negative about this.

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
Motley, I've been saying his record is below average to average. I've also said I hope it improves with us. I have also criticised some bizarre decisions he has made at home, and was annoyed he threw a game. I have also given him credit for two tremendous results.

I stand by all of it.

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
Hermit, you've been attacking Bilic saying he isn't good enough.

Cornish, it's just two home games, there's another 17 yet, I think Bilic clever enough to get it right by then.

He is an option but still think we need others over the season. Lanzini will find it tougher against teams that sit deep coming to UP and they will probably try to rough him up and be physical to keep him quiet. It will work some games and at home especially. We need another pact wide player IMHO like Moses who is strong as well as fast and tricky. We also need another creative influence in midfield if Payet gets injured and we also need another striker.

Its for home games where the onus is on us to attack and stretch teams that we need strengthening. That said, superb, unexpected result yesterday.

Motley crue the two home games and the way we lost them.the thin squad, you only had to look at the bench yesterday.

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
Still here mate & would eco Sir Alf's comments.

Personally, my negativity was more aimed & is still aimed at the owners rather than Bilic.

That still stands even after yesterday as I don't think BFS left the squad in a great place & since January the squad / club has been allowed to drift with a big curve downwards in form & mood. The latter comes from the poor leadership at the top & the owners are more to blame than BFS.

To date I don't think Bilic has been given that much backing in the transfer market to address the obvious weaknesses in the squad he was left.

The board have now just three days left to address the obvious shortfalls in the squad, but that's been needed for the last 8 months, or in Bilic's case as highlighted by him in his interview yesterday, it's been since the start of July.

From G&S talk is cheap & their general comments & PR faux pas have been many & frequent & a bad joke this summer.

My issues & negativity against Bilic were mainly about the thrown Euro game & some of his team selections & set-ups for the two home games. I've moved on from the former & with the latter it is perhaps forgiveable given he's finding out about his squad & the weaknesses & strengths of the players.

G&S now need to back the manager with players he wants & cut out all the shit on twitter & trying to save £2.20 on deals & instead walk the walk rather than just talk the talk.

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
Hermit, there was a lot of reasoned, sensible debate going on, there was fucking herds of cunts on here calling Bilic clueless and for him to be sacked, 3 league games in. And they'll be back after the next loss.

That is the work of proper cunts.

Eerie Descent 10:38 Sun Aug 30
Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
Sir Alf, do you think that the lightweight Lanzini could be one of those wide players?

Hermit - agreed.

Are we going to have a Told You So thread after every game, win or lose?

Hermit Road 10:30 Sun Aug 30
Re: So where are all the negative posters now?

We had a fantastic result yesterday and were superb. It seems strange to use that as an opportunity to criticise supports who want to see us sign better players and be run more professionally. It's almost as if some of you don't want those things.

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
Bilic will get it right, I've never had any negative comments to make about him

The new players who have come in will take time to settle in, & none of them look like bad buys, quite the opposite

However, we are still a few players short, so hopefully, we'll get a few more in before the window closes. The bench looks very lightweight

No doubt we'll be getting kicked all over the park against Newcastle so expect several injuries

Sir Alf 10:25 Sun Aug 30
Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
True Motley but we need more wide options and another striker. An injury to Payet and more injuries for our strikers will expose the lack of depth.

Also, we need these options to solve the challenge of winning at home against teams that play like we did at Anfield yesterday.

But we have a few days so lets hope we do a bit of business to address the lack of width and pace we need at home.

For now though we will continue to bask in the glory of yesterday's unexpected but deserved victory.
